Infinity Foods Organic mayonnaise
This is Nant Clyd Farm in Wales where eggs used in our Mayonnaise are laid
Why Choose Infinity Foods Mayonnaise?
Taste - We wanted to create a high quality, traditionally made mayonnaise using the finest organic ingredients. We use unpastuerised fresh Organic Eggs for a homemade taste. The six other ingredients we use are Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Cyder Vinegar, Organic Lemon Juice, Organic Mustard Powder, Sea Salt and Organic Freshly Ground Black Pepper. As well as our Original Mayonnaise we now make an Organic Smoked Garlic Mayonnaise with the same ingredients plus Smoked Garlic of course. We have not used water, fillers, sugars or sweeteners. These are all things commonly found in other mayonnaise. Our mayonnaise is unpasturised. There is no need for it to be otherwise. It is laboratory tested and safe. Our Mayonnaise was awarded a Gold star Award at the Great Taste Awards
Concern for animal welfare - Factory farming has made eggs cheap to buy, but there has been a high price to pay in terms of animal welfare. High levels of stress are common in factory-farmed chicken, leading to increased aggression and feather pecking in birds laying eggs. Most egg layers are kept indoors in battery cages with little space to move around and to express their natural behaviour.
Presently, most organic mayonnaise on the market uses eggs that are certified to EU Organic Standards. Although these are produced to a higher standard than mass produced factory farm eggs it is our belief that they do not conform to consumer expectations of organic farming. EU standards often permit the "de-beaking" of hens and fall way short of most people's expectations of the meaning of "free range" with bird flocks of up to 9000 birds per shed permitted.
we only use Soil Association certified eggs in our mayonnaise. We belive no eggs are porduced to higher standards than those with the Soil Association organic symbol becuase
- The birds are truly free - range spending most of their lives roaming outside
- They are looked after in small flocks
- They have better access to fresh grass and air
- they have more space in their houses
- Their diet is rich in organically grown cereals
- The routine use of antibiotics is not allowed
- Genetically modified feed is banned
